VOTE DAVID JINKENS FOR
CITY COUNCIL

Thank you for visiting my website. It is important that you know where a candidate stands on important issues before you vote, and for this reason I want to share with you my thoughts on a few matters. Of course, I want to listen to and be responsive to your questions, comments, and concerns during the election and after my election to office.

I want the best for our city and all people who live here. I want to see city government focus on important things that are needed. I know from my extensive experience in local government that the city council works for you first and foremost above all other interests. I will always work for all community members and put the interests of South Lake Tahoe and locals first.

I pledge to support actions by the city council that address the most important community issues in a creative, economical and inclusive manner. One of my personal goals is to unite the community by finding creative, mutually agreeable and realistic answers to the city’s highest priority problems. I do not support the Vacancy Tax (Measure N)—it is a flawed, unfair and arguably illegal measure. Measure N does not help workforce housing issues, is an invasion of privacy, and requires a huge new city bureaucracy. I encourage you to get the facts and visit: www.StopMeasureN.com as well as read my additional thoughts on this measure throughout this website.

After 35 years as a City Manager, I want to give back some of my knowledge to the community of South Lake Tahoe and its residents. I have remained engaged on important issues that affect our state and our city.  A lot has been done – I would like to build upon some of the successes that have been achieved and focus on some issues that remain unaddressed.

I am fiscally prudent, a 22-year resident of South Lake Tahoe, and have been married to my lovely wife (Terri) for 42 years.

I would like to see the city foster an environment for business that provides good paying jobs and affordable housing to our community.

I can and will work with whomever is elected to the city council to foster a spirit of cooperation to address our city’s pressing issues and achieve important objectives like repaired streets, no new taxes, setting budget priorities, aggressively pursuing fire safety, opposing projects that pollute the land or lake. I will also LISTEN to my constituents.

COMO CANDIDATO
Quiero representar todas las personas que viven aqui. Es importante a mi que su miembro del concilio eschucha a ustedes todo el tiempo. “Si, Podemos”
